Reminiscing Continued...

Oops, I forgot to add my maternity pictures to my last post as well! I had a friend take them and I forgot completely about them. Better late then never right? It crazy to think that Mia was once inside of me and I sat there wondering each day what she would look and be like...I must say I like the outcome!

Also, stay tuned for my Thanksgiving post if any of you care to know how the Robertson's celebrate Thanksgiving! :)

Reminiscing

We have an old camera that we've used through dating/marriage and lost the cord to get the picture off the camera. I just recently found out I have a card reader on my new computer so I finally was able to get those pictures and thought...why not do some reminiscing! Take a look...some of you might be in them!

Festival of Colors while Eric and I were dating. My first and probably last time attending.

Eric proposed while we were hiking at Zions National Park. We had a little audience of hikers and some guy offered to take our picture right after Eric popped the question and I said yes.

Every year sine I've been married I've thrown a Halloween party and this was my first one in our tiny attic apartment! We all carved pumpkins and had treats.

Not sure why we look so angry and I look so pale

Our friends Weston and Deanna (don't hate me Weston for posting this)

Tyler and Annelise

This is how Collin proposed to Sara. We went to her apartment early to set the pumpkin up while they were out and hid ourselves to watch. Let's just say Sara was very surprised when she walking in!

Our first Christmas we went to see the lights on Temple Square with Sara and Collin.

Leaving for Germany! My first big trip and boy was it fun!

And a few of little, miss Mia...of course!

This video is Mia first started to laugh. She loves to do this little squeal at the end of her laughs that I just love! She wasn't very sure of the camera though.
This other video I took today. She just loves her bouncer! It's so stinking cute to watch her get jumping as she talks.

Mia's Christmas Shoot

I'm not sure if anyone looks at my photo blog so I wanted to repost the Christmas shoot of Mia while I was at home for the break because it was just so stinkin' cute! To view the full post you can check it out HERE.

Photo Blog

So it's now blog official...I have a photo blog! I wanted to get this blog ready in time for the fall season, but life happened, as always, and I got really busy. Anyway, I finally have a place to post pictures I have taken. Just as a little side note, I've hesitated creating this blog because I wouldn't say I'm professional photographer what so ever, but I've decided to break out of my shell a little and show off what I have come to enjoy doing. Check it out! Followers welcome :)

"It looks like you have pneumonia"

So after almost 2 weeks of being sick, 2 visits to the ER, IV therapy, being quarantined from my baby (this from Eric), needing my mom to come in and help, and a pile of homework…I am FINALLY getting better and showing some real progress! In case you haven’t heard, I have been sick with pneumonia. At first we thought that is was the flu since I was showing all the symptoms, but apparently there haven’t been any outbreaks in Utah yet so after not getting better and having a couple days of really high fevers Eric convinced me to go to the hospital and the diagnosis was made and drugs were given! Lucky for me I have an amazing husband who took care of both Mia and me for a whole week until my mom found out and took pity on us. Once again, my mother saved the day and took care of Mia (including getting up with her in the night), cleaned my house (at this point a big project), cooked dinners and took care of me so Eric could get caught back up on his school work.

Basically I love my mom and don’t know what I would do without her and I am hugely indebted to her, Eric, Mia who was extremely good through all of this and everyone else who helped out during this rather “low” period for me.

So to rise from this low Mia and I went home with mom a couple days early for Thanksgiving. Holiday plans for the next week include baking and eating lots of food, watching holiday movies, card makings, crafting, girls night watching the new Twilight, Turkey trot (a 5k that we made up that we’re making everyone we know join in so if you’re in Ely for Thanksgiving and feel like walking/running a 5k the day after Thanksgiving let me know!), family “Just Dance” dance off, cutting down Christmas trees, and hanging out with my crazy but much loved family! Mia plans on getting spoiled rotten…”literally”!

And I promise to take my camera out and capture these moments…if not for you then to just having something for Mia to have to remember her first Thanksgiving! (Good motivation right?!) In the mean time here are some pictures to get you by!

Mia now has teeth! Here is a good picture showing off her new front two teeth on the bottom.

Hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving Holiday!

Cazookie

Homemade cazookie and sappy movies now that Mia is in bed and Eric is in Portland for a job interview...don't mind if I do!

My new food love (new as in for the past couple of months) are cazookies. They are originally from The Chocolate in Orem which is a dessert cafe and really really good! It's pretty much cookie dough baked in a small, round cake pan until a little crispy around the edges and gooey in the middle with a big scoop of ice cream on top. A while pack Eric and I tried creating our own with personal sized pie tins. One word to describes these....AMAZING!

And that is my little food vent for the month on my night by myself.

Oh and stay tuned for a really post hopefully this weekend :)

Happy Halloween!

The month of October flew by for us! It was filled with road trips, job interviews, our annual Halloween Party, Mia's 6th month mark, baking, crafting, tests, and football games!

About a week ago Eric went to Vernal to go hunting, so I decided to go home for the week while he was away. Mia was of course spoiled by Grandpa and Grandma and mom and I had fun sewing blankets and pants for Mia, making cards, baking cookies, and of course watching our sappy (as the boys would say) Hallmark movies. And sorry, I failed again to take pictures of this trip :( Eric also had a good week home, but still didn't have much luck bringing anything home, but is still enthusiastic for next year. After being away from each other for a week, we were both getting kind of home sick so Eric surprised me by coming home early...and let me tell you, it was definitely a surprise! I had just gotten into bed and was laying there when I saw a figure in the hallway, I was so scared! I thought someone had broken into our apartment! Anyway, it was good to have him back home!

For the Halloween weekend, we had our Annual Halloween Party on Saturday! For the last 3 years my sister and I have put on a Halloween party and each year I go through this phase of loving to plan a party and entertain to "why the heck do I do this every year!" It can be a lot of work to throw a party for a lot of people, but in the end I always circle back to enjoying it. For this years party we realized we had invited a lot more people then last year and one of our small apartments was not going to work so we rented out a room at a place called Noah's in Lindon. We got a good deal on in and it ended up being a perfect  and "homey" place where we could spread out a little. We had dinner and then played games. One being the Just Dance game for the Kinect and there was laughs all around when doing the boys vs. girls. It was another successful party! Thanks to everyone who was able to make it and we missed those who couldn't be there and to babysitters who let some of us parents enjoy a night out!

These are the invites to the party. They turned out really cute!

I couldn't resist taking pictures when the boys went on the Just Dance game. It was entertaining to watch!

Other then our party, Halloween was pretty low key. In feeling guilty that everyone was dressing up their kids for Halloween, I crocheted Mia a Minion hat from the movie "Despicable Me". For doing so last minute I thought it turned out cute and I just love Mia in hats! Since we didn't go trick-or-treating I had her wear it to the store.

Now for my quick general notes so this post doesn't end up a novel (sorry), Eric has had quite a few job interviews this month for jobs after he graduates in April. Our biggest lead on a job so far is one in Portland Oregon. He's had two interviews so far and now they are flying him out for a final interview this weekend. I'm both nervous and excited. I had really set my sights on staying here in Utah to be close to both our families so I'm really having to rely on faith that the Lord will take our family where ever is best for us.

As I also mentioned earlier, Mia is now 6 months! She is going to be a year before we know it. She is now sitting up all by herself, is starting to figure out how to crawl by putting her legs under her, is getting better at eating solid food, says "da-da" and just talks (very loudly) all day long! She's even got the camera face down where when I pull it out to take a picture she does this little smirk. Basically, she gives me more and more reasons every day to make me love her even more!

Mia practicing getting her legs under her to crawl. We'll see how long it actually takes her to do it!
